James Thomsen is a founding partner and is renowned for identifying and exploiting an organization’s strategic “sweet spot,” knowing what’s most important in complex settings, and developing winning strategies that pursue the most significant opportunities for sustainable growth. As the operating President at Thrivent Financial, a privately held Fortune 500 organization, Jim provided strategic and operational leadership for multiple Thrivent subsidiaries within the asset-management, healthcare, banking, insurance, and trust domains. During his tenure at Thrivent, he also led transformational strategy development and execution for existing businesses, launched new ventures, and led mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Jim holds a BA from Luther College and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
